There are numerous research opportunities for the orthopedic residents at PCOM
We have the opportunity to work with many fellowship-trained attending surgeons who are actively involved in academic research and publish regularly in highly respected peer reviewed journals
Several of our residents have recently been published in JAAOS, JBJS, CORR, JOT, JOA, Orthopedics, and Spine
One of our resident's research won the 2018 John Charnley Hip Society award which was honored at the annual AAOS meeting in 2017
We also are encouraged to present posters and give podium presentations throughout the country
Our residents have had podium presentations in England, France and Italy
Starting 2018-2019 academic year, a resident research curriculum for PGY1-PGY5 has been implemented which provides residents a structured and outlined goals and objective on track for a minimum of one publication in a peer-reviewed journal by graduation of residency.
